International Urban Retreat 2013

“If the potential for Buddhahood is within all of us, then the potential for metta certainly is.” – Sangharakshita

The International Urban Retreat begins this weekend, with Buddhist Centres around the world engaging with the theme of metta: blazing like the sun. We’re going to join in by celebrating the theme of loving-kindness for a whole month, posting quotes and excerpts from our books on metta and interviews with our authors on loving-kindness.

You can also join in by following the Urban Retreat Group on The Buddhist Centre Online, where Vessantara, author of The Heart, will be giving talks on metta, and there will be a daily practice suggestion from Subhadramati, taken from her new book Not About Being Good.

Find out more about the Urban Retreat and its theme of loving-kindness by watching this great short video of Vajragupta telling the story of an encounter that he had in his home town that inspired him to practise loving-kindness.
